The UWM campus is located on Milwaukee’s East Side, north of downtown near the lake. GWAMP will take place in Curtin Hall, which is located at 3243 N. Downer Ave. (between Kenwood and Hartford). Campus and regional maps are available here: UWM campus and regional maps.
Driving directions: from I-94 or I-43 in downtown Milwaukee, take I-794 East to the Lakefront exit. (NB: The Lakefront exit itself is closed due to construction. Please follow the Lakefront detour: (i) exit at Jackson/Van Buren, (ii) go straight through the first traffic light and then bear left as the exit ramp becomes Van Buren, (iii) turn right at Michigan, and finally (iv) turn left onto Lincoln Memorial Dr.). Continue north on Lincoln Memorial Dr. along the lakefront for about 3 miles until you reach the top of the hill; stay in the left lane in order to continue straight, as Lincoln Memorial Dr. becomes E. Kenwood Blvd. (at the intersection with N. Lake Dr.). Continue on E. Kenwood Blvd.
To reach Curtin Hall, turn right at N. Downer Ave. (the first traffic light past Lake Dr.); Curtin Hall will be in the first block on your left.
Parking: There is free, non-time-restricted street parking on Saturdays on most of the residential blocks immediately east of Downer near Curtin Hall; check each block’s signage for details. Alternatively, visitors can pay to park in the UWM Union Garage on E. Kenwood Blvd., which can be reached by continuing past N. Downer Ave. as you come west along Kenwood from the lakefront.
Train: Amtrak’s Hiawatha line runs several times a day from Chicago’s Union Station to the Intermodal Station in downtown Milwaukee. From there, it is approximately a 10-min. taxi ride to the UWM campus.
Plane: Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport is located on the city’s south side. It is approximately a 25-min. taxi ride from the airport to the UWM campus. The MCTS Green Line bus runs from the airport and stops at the intersection of N. Oakland Ave. and E. Kenwood Blvd. at the western edge of campus.
